We have a number of instructional hockey programs as well as open times to play hockey.  Although we do not run our own leagues at the Space City Ice Station you can get more information from the groups that do on our web links page.   Our hockey offerings are Stick & Puck, Drop In Hockey,  Youth Hockey 1/2 & 3/4, Youth Cross Ice Hockey, Adult 101-102 and Adult 103-104.

Many outside groups use our rink. Check out our web links page for info on other hockey opportunities at the Space City Ice Station.

Equipment: You can get some used equipment from BAHHA or new equipment online. Head over to our web links page for links to their sites.

Stick & Puck is an open time for people of all ages to practice skating, shooting and passing with no instruction.  At one end of the ice people may be skating cones while at the other end a game of half ice hockey may be going on.  A lot of what really happens depends on the number and ages of the folks that show up.  This is a good time to work on all of your hockey skills at your own pace and direction.  The schedule is as follows but be sure to always check the calendar.  Helmets, gloves and pants are required though full equipment is recommended. Under 18, full equipment is required.

Drop In is a scrimmage game.  Teams are formed simply by the color jerseys on hand.  There is a limit of 24 skaters and 4 goalies allowed.  The Tuesday night (10:00 pm) has been a weekly tradition and we are pleased to continue it at the Space City Ice Station.  You can call the rink in advance at 281-486-7979 to reserve your spot. Drop-ins may be added anytime so always check the calendar for the latest times. Helmets, gloves, elbow and shin pads are required though full equipment is recommended. Under 18, full equipment is required.

You may come to any one night for $20.

Youth Cross Ice - An introductory program designed to develop ice hockey skills and competitive team play. Team sizes are small providing a better coach-to-player ratio. Coaches will focus on the development of these individual core ice hockey skills: skating skills, puck control, stick-handling, positioning, passing and shooting. A team oriented setting keeps a fun and positive atmosphere on the ice.
The practices and games are played ACROSS the width of one zone. This increases the pace of play and allows skills to develop at a faster pace.
